It was built in the Andalusian area between 1321 and 1323 by Prince El Hassan Abu Ali, during the reign of the Merinids. Besides its function of Koranic school, madrasah Sahrij also served as accommodation for students from the University of Al Karaouine.
The building exudes an atmosphere of peace and serenity; feelings that do not fail to win over visitors to discover piece by piece.
