This place of worship, built in the late seventeenth century, was owned by a family of rabbis, the Danan, whose fassie lineage back to the late fourteenth century. This synagogue is one of the jewels of the Moroccan Jewish culture and one of the largest synagogues in North Africa. World Heritage of UNESCO, the Ibn Danan synagogue was recently renovated.
