Under the orders of Sultan Marinid, Abu Youssef, Seffarine madrassah was built in 1280 on the edges of the Wadi Fez, at the Place Seffarine (coppersmiths) which continually resonates the sound of metal being shapes. From this square there is direct access to the library of the University of Al Karaouine and the street of the dyers where we discover the stalls where the skeins of dyed wool and cotton in large cauldrons.
