The military fort, Borj Nord, dating from the XVI century, houses the museum of weapons. It was built in 1582 by order of Sultan Ahmed El Mansour to monitor and protect the city of Fez against foreign threats.
Diverse in origin, all weapons are chronologically exhibited in eleven rooms, the carved stone cannon, through axes, halberds, pikes, spears, a beautiful collection of sabers and swords engraved sleeves, jiamdhai inlaid Indian, Malay kris, Iranian helmets, saddles with their ornaments, etc.
Previously installed Batha palace, the collection of "Dar Slah" comes largely from the Makina, an arsenal founded by Sultan Moulay Hassan 1 at the end of the nineteenth century.
The museum is open to visitors every day from 9:00 to 13:00 except Tuesday.
Admission is charged.
